Volunteer Spotlight

Thank you so much to John Joyce, father of Stefan (101) and Malina (105) for sharing energetic and talented musical abilities with the students in Room 103.  Kristen Olson and Nick Clifton, parents of Julia in 103, purchased a special musical experience with John at the Big Leap Auction.  Kristen and Nick were generous and shared the event with Julia’s whole classroom. Julia’s classroom had a wonderful experience listening to the music, singing and dancing! Thanks to John, Kristen, and Nick for your generosity and talents.

Brickton Reads
May is filled with gift giving opportunities!  Think books or gift cards for new and used books from a favorite book seller.  If you are buying online, the choices are numerous.  Better World Books does not charge shipping and has frequent sales.  abebooks.com offers an expansive list. Be sure to put the Printers Row Book Fair on your summer calendar, and don’t forget to sign up for summer programs at your local library.
To get us in a summer mood, Middle School is presenting Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night's Dream to Brickton students.  Juggling both classic and contemporary, Middle School is also reading Scott Westerfield's Uglies series, which includes Pretties, Specials and Extras.
