SNOW DAYS EDITION
This week, the snow shut down the school. Tuesday, Brickton closed early at 3:00 PM, and Wednesday and Thursday, we were completely closed. Because of these closures, this edition of the Brickton Weekly is being published on a Friday instead of Thursday.
Montessori High School?
A note from Debbie Kelley
I am excited to let you know that I have been engaged in a conversation with several Chicago and suburban Montessori Schools about the feasibility of starting a Montessori High School (grades 9-12) in the near future. We are inviting current parents from each of our schools to offer help in guiding the project. Please take a few minutes to answer our survey. If you would like to forward the link to other parents who might be interested, please do so.
We hope that you will join other Montessori families and complete this survey by Tuesday, February 15th.

A concerned mother turned filmmaker aims her camera at the high-stakes, high-pressure culture that has invaded our schools and our children's lives, creating unhealthy, disengaged, un-prepared and stressed-out youth.
RACE TO NOWHERE is a call to action to challenge current assumptions on how best to prepare the youth of America to become healthy, bright, contributing, and leading citizens. After seeing the film, your views on education and childhood will be changed forever.
To purchase tickets online go to: www.racetonowhere.com

$15 at the door the night of the event
Hope to see you there!
Calling all Crafters!
The 6-9 is very busy working on their art project for THE BIG LEAP. They are in need of two electric wood burning tools. If you have one that you would be willing to loan them, please contact Heather Wilcek at heather.wilcek@brickton.org. THANK YOU!
Extra Game Pieces?
The Middle School students are putting together their Auction Benefit Project and they need your help! The project will have a "board game" theme, and we need your help donating extra/misc. game pieces, spinners, etc. Whatever you have is helpful.
Please drop them off outside the Middle School room or in the main office.
