The Brickton Weekly, January 30, 2015

Thank You Corner
Thanks to Deb DeYoung for hosting the Big Leap planning meeting at her home.  It was an enjoyable and productive get together.

Coming soon to your mailbox
Your invitation to the annual benefit, The Big Leap, will be arriving by the end of next week in your home's mailbox. The more the merrier – so invite a friend, relative, or neighbor to come with you! Banquets by Morretti’s (upstairs venue) will host our benefit on Saturday, March 7, beginning at 6:30 pm. Drinks, appetizers, auctions, Team Trivia, Heads & Tails, and Wine & Dine are just part of the festivities. Kindly RSVP by February 27, 2015.

What’s in your basement? Know a fantastic dinner spot?
Procure for Brickton!
A great way to support The Big Leap is to procure items for the auction or Wine & Dine. Remember the beautiful original painting you received at your wedding that never made it on your wall? Cheryl did! Priceless for the special collector out there. Had a fabulous date night at a local restaurant last week? Go back, and ask for a gift certificate for two (or four), add a bottle of wine, and you just created an item for the benefit. Dust it off, ask around, and donate to The Big Leap. Procurement letters are available by clicking this link or picking one up in the office.

Get FREE raffle tickets to The Big Leap!
Our Big Leap committee would like to show their gratitude to all the families who participate in procurement by doing something a little different this year! We are offering a pair of Big Leap tickets (valued at $170) as a raffle prize – and there are several ways to earn your tickets!
Each bottle of wine donated = 1 raffle ticket
Each $25 gift certificate donated = 2 raffle tickets
Each $100 sponsorship donated = 5 raffle tickets
There is no limit to how many raffle tickets you can earn! All donations must be turned in to Kelly McDermott in the main office no later than February 27, 2015. Click here for sponsorship letters or pick one up in the office.

Schoolyard Habitat Grant Award
Brickton has been awarded a $300 grant to build a butterfly garden thanks to the diligent efforts of Children’s House directress Agnes Guerra.  Awarded by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, the Schoolyard Habitat grant allows students to experience nature and wildlife in a hands-on learning environment.  You can read more about the grant here.

Used Dr. Seuss Put to Good Use
Dotty is looking for used and no longer wanted Dr. Seuss books to create her Big Leap Auction project. If you have any books that you want to contribute (and not get back) please drop them off in Dotty's office by February 7th.
